Camping Recipe: Skillet Beer Cheese

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of shredded cheddar
  • 1 8 ounces block of softened cream cheese 
  • 2 minced cloves of garlic
  • 1 tbsp of freshly chopped chives and a little more for garnish
  • 1 cup of lager beer
  • Kosher salt
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • Toasted baguette slices

Instructions:

  1. Place a grate over your campfire. 
  2. Add the cheddar, cream cheese, garlic, chives, and beer to a cast-iron skillet.
  3. Season the mixture with salt and cayenne pepper.
  4. Cover the skillet with foil.
  5. Cook the mixture over your campfire until it is melty, or for about 15 minutes. 
  6. Serve with baguette slices (or your favorite thing to munch on with dips!)
  7. Enjoy!
